About Me

KATHLEEN FLOOD is a Los Angeles–based creative executive, producer, and program leader working at the intersection of nonfiction storytelling, creative production, and emerging AI workflows. With a background spanning documentary development, editorial media, and applied technology, Kathleen is known for translating ambitious creative ideas into thoughtful, executable production systems.

Most recently, Kathleen served as a Senior Development Executive and Executive Producer at XTR, where she developed and produced documentary features and series including MSNBC Films’ PERIODICAL, Freeform/Hulu’s SASHA REID AND THE MIDNIGHT ORDER, and ABC News Studios/Hulu's TROPHY WIFE: MURDER ON SAFARI. Her work has often centered on championing first-time filmmakers — particularly women — and telling stories about underrepresented communities through a human, entertaining, and culturally aware lens.

Over the past year, Kathleen expanded her focus into applied AI production, supporting initiatives that explored how generative tools could be integrated into real-world studio workflows. Collaborating with technical artists, creative teams, and production partners, she helped bridge creative intent with emerging technologies while maintaining a strong emphasis on ethical, story-first execution.

Previously, Kathleen produced unscripted television and documentary content for networks and media companies including MTV, Refinery29, Condé Nast, and VICE Media. During her seven years at VICE, she held roles across editorial, development, and production, contributing to the launch of the VICELAND television network. She began her career as a Lifestyle Editor and Fashion Stylist for ABODE, a city lifestyle magazine based in Doha, Qatar.

Kathleen’s work is driven by a deep curiosity about how technology can expand — rather than replace — the creative process, and she remains passionate about building collaborative environments where storytelling and innovation can evolve together.
